   Research

We are interested in algorithmic and statistical problems in Bioinformatics, particularly in the areas of proteomic, evolutionary genomics and functional genomics.

Research topics in evolutioanry/comparative genomics:

  • Segmental duplications in human (details) and other eukaryotic genomes;
  • Discovery of LTR retrotransposons (details) and the other mobile genetic elements in eukaryotic genomes;

Fragment assembly in DNA sequencing (details)

Research topics in proteomics and glycomics:

  • Predictin fragmentary mass spectra of peptides using machine learning approaches (details);
  • Automatics interpretation of glycans (details come soon; a preliminary report);
  • Computational identification of glycopeptides from tandem mass spectra. (details come soon!);

Analysis of ChIP-on-chip data (details come soon!)

  • Differential location analysis;
  • Graph theoretic approaches to identifying regulons from ChIP-on-chip data;
  •
